Carol Zuber-Mallison
has 12 years experience as a freelance artist specializing in maps, charts
and informational graphics.
Carol graduated from
the University of Missouri School of Journalism with a degree in reporting
and editing. She spent 10 years at the Fort Worth Star-Telegramstarting
as a copyeditor and progressing to news editor, special sections designer
and graphics editor. For three years at The Dallas Morning News
she worked as an artist and as the newspapers first graphics editor.
She has won numerous
honors, including many from the Society for Newspaper Design and the Dallas
Press Club. She has diagrammed everything from wars to Super Bowls to
presidential prostates.
Despite years of deadly
tornadoes and killer deadlines, Carol maintains an enthusiasm for challenging
projects and a curiousity of all things. She has taken classes in art
at Texas Christian University and in philosophy at the College of St.
Thomas More. She has played violin and viola with the Fort Worth Civic
Orchestra and is now studying the mandolin. She is married to a Star-Telegram
photojournalist and has two children.
